Letters submitted to The World of Welding do not necessarily reflect the opinions of Hobart Institute.

I run a welder training program for the NJ Department of Corrections (my thirtieth year!). I often have students who ask for
further training and I recommend your school as the best there is. I didn’t go to school at Hobart (although I wish I did - It’s
such a great school). I came out and spent almost a week watching your teachers and looking at your school. One nice person
even gave me a tour of the Hobart electrode factory. I’ve read many of your articles and when I do, it’s neat to think that I met
you. I was there when Mr. Bird was the superintendent; he seemed like a very down to earth man.

I was so impressed with your facility, your teaching techniques, and especially your teachers. Even though I only spent a few
days with you all, Hobart had a big impact on how I teach. I had only been teaching a few years when I came out and went
back home with thousands of great ideas and a truckload of renewed enthusiasm. (Continued on page 30)
