                   NEW!
                   THE SYMBOL OF WELD QUALITY

Quality has always been at the top of the list whenever Hobart Institute develops a new product. Online training is not new
technology in the educational environment and the Symbols for Welding learning packet has been part of the welding curriculum
for years. Now Hobart Institute has combined the proven technology with a web-based product that meets the requirements of
                   today’s fast-paced world.

With your personal computer from your office, school or home, the Symbols for Welding course may conveniently be taken
online at www.welding.org. This course is based on a self-study programmed learning packet that is available in a PDF file
from the website or paper copy that may be sent to you. The course also includes video instruction that you may play, pause,
or review at your own pace. Online competency exams, that may be retaken, are provided to measure what you have learned.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate to document your success and provide you with CEU’s
                   (continuing education units).

“We view this new product as an opportunity for those involved or wishing to become involved in welding to learn the proper
welding symbols,” says Rich Green, Director of Planning and Development at Hobart Institute. “It also allows companies to
provide continuing education for their employees without the cost of lost time from work, the expense of a motel and travel to
                   an educational site for training.”

Additional online training courses are being developed by the staff at Hobart Institute.

The Symbols for Welding packet is based on the American Welding Society (AWS) A2.4 “Symbols for Welding and
Nondestructive Examination Standard.” The symbols provide the vital link between the designer and the people responsible
for planning and producing the weldments.
