Hobart Institute of Welding Technology Holds Spring Job Fair

Thirty employers representing 10
different states congregated in the Career
Development area on March 7th for the
Spring Job Fair. Companies that represent
everything from the Pipe Trades, Sheet
Metal and Iron Workers to Construction,
Automotive, Aerospace, and Fabrication
were represented. Employers had the
opportunity to speak with and interview
over 150 students; while students were able
to discuss job opportunities and sell their
skills to hiring managers. Several students
scheduled interviews and weld tests during
the job fair which resulted in them securing
employment. HIWT holds three job fairs
per year – March, June and September.
Employers have the opportunity to come
to one, two or all of them. Since students
start programs and graduate each month of
the year, employers have the opportunity to
speak with students at different completion
levels of their program. Additionally,
it gives students an idea of the various
opportunities in the welding field that await
them when they complete their programs.
