Degrees

The requirements to earn an
American Degree through the
Future Farmers of America
are numerous and three very
hard-working alum of Hobart
Institute of Welding Technology
have earned this honor. Derek
Strayer from Riverside High
School in DeGraff, OH., Hunter
Heard from Marysville, High
School in Marysville, OH., and
Logan Shell from Liberty Union Derek Strayer Hunter Heard Logan Shell
High School in Baltimore, OH.
In order to earn an American Degree a student has to have been an active FFA member for 36 months, completed 3 years of secondary
education and is a high school graduate (within 12 months), have in operation and maintained records on a supervised agricultural
experience (SAE), and have a record of outstanding leadership abilities. They must also participate in at least 50 hours of community
service with at least 3 different community service organizations. Lastly, a student must earn at least $10,000 and productively invested
$7,500 or earned and productively invested $2,000 and worked 2,250 hours of scheduled class time.
Congratulations to these young men and their accomplishments.
