HIWT Alum and Career Center Welding
Instructor Passes Away

Russell Durham was born on December 21, 1948 and
passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2019. Russell
was a Hobart Institute of Welding Technology alum
and resident of Madison, Indiana at the time of
passing. Russ spent a much of his career teaching
at Southeastern Career Center in Versailles, IN.
A proponent of skilled trades, especially welding,
Russell encouraged many students to pursue welding
as a career, suggesting they attend Hobart Institute.
As a remembrance to a life of welding, and dedication
to his commitment to HIWT, a friend had a metal sign
made and presented it to his wife. Our condolences
go out to his family. He will be missed by everyone
that knew him here at HIWT
