The U.S. base, McMurdo Station, operates a power plant
for the base and is in need of a welder to run fuel lines to
generators from the fuel tank. The U.S. Navy specifications
govern the acceptance criteria for the welds. Welding is done
for extreme cold weather conditions of minus 50 degrees in
the area where everything virtually shuts down during their
winter months of March through July and no planes can fly
            in or out.

                                                                          U.S. base McMurdo Station, Antarctica

plumbing and pipefitting on a previous trip.

“Welding has given me the ability and the resources to do what
I want, where I want,” says Aaron. “I watch for job openings
throughout the world. I am like a monkey with a shiny object
