HOBART INSTITUTE WAS THE “WRIGHT” DECISION

Five years ago I had to make a decision. As a then-freshman
at Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School I had to
choose what trade I would take in school for the next four
years. We had an opportunity to explore nine shops with

hammered on an anvil and shaped into works of art.

Taking in the scenery was truly fascinating to me! My week
of exploration in the metal fabrication shop was unforgettable
-- having the opportunity to weld, blacksmith, and even
perform simple tasks like using an oxyacetylene torch to cut a
piece of metal -- really opened my eyes to the world of metal
fabrication. My last day there, I had the opportunity to design
and fabricate a metal rose which I still have today.
