Lance Busch has a passion for welding! That is why he
came to Hobart to take the Combination Structural and Pipe
Welding Program. Recreationally, Lance also has a passion
for bowling. Recently he bowled a perfect game (300) at Troy
Bowl while he was here in Troy. For that effort he earned a
ring.
Lance has been bowling since he was 5 years old and continued
through high school. His average is 210. He has been welding
since 7 grade. Lance is a graduate of Napoleon High School
th
and also Four County Career Center in Archbold, Ohio.
His welding teacher Mr. Jim Fox was a big motivator in his
decision to get into welding. Each year when students would
explore careers, Lance kept getting drawn towards welding.
Mr. Fox showed Lance how to create welded sculptures and
he was hooked after that.

Working in pipeline welding
is an immediate goal for
Lance after his training
at Hobart Institute, but
ultimately he plans to open his
own custom fabrication shop.
With his warm enthusiasm
and outgoing personality, I
am convinced he will achieve
his dreams!
As I write this, he is currently
