WILKES CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL MASCOT DEPICTED IN
SCULPTURE
The welding students in Gary Treadway’s class at Wilkes Central
High School in Wilkesboro, NC, have completed an artistic
sculpture of an eagle, the school’s mascot. The sculpture will be
installed near the front entrance of the school to identify the school
by its appropriate nickname, “The Nest.”

by Mr. Treadway along with
his students and Mr. Tim
Wyatt, the masonry teacher.
The work was made possible
through a Lowe’s Toolbox
grant from Lowe’s Companies
entitled Project GreenLIFE
(Landscape Inspiration for
Eagles).
