WILKES CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL MASCOT DEPICTED IN

            SCULPTURE

The welding students in Gary Treadway’s class at Wilkes Central
High School in Wilkesboro, NC, have completed an artistic
sculpture of an eagle, the school’s mascot. The sculpture will be
installed near the front entrance of the school to identify the school
by its appropriate nickname, “The Nest.”
                    Above: Mr. Gary Treadway
                       Welding Instructor
                    Wilkes Central High School
                        Wilkesboro, NC

            The eagle, perched on the
edge of its nest, was designed
            by Mr. Treadway along with
            his students and Mr. Tim
            Wyatt, the masonry teacher.
            The work was made possible
            through a Lowe’s Toolbox
            grant from Lowe’s Companies
            entitled Project GreenLIFE
            (Landscape Inspiration for
            Eagles).

            On right: Welding students gather
            around their sculpture that displays
            the school’s mascot which will
be placed at the entrance to their
            building, “The Nest”.
