Goldman collaborated with Steven Santos, Director of Recreation,
in presenting the idea to the Park Commission and Board of
Selectmen. The sculpture’s connection with the town’s natural
resources, its safety features and environmental theme won its
approval for placement along the trail. The sculpture’s installation
was publically celebrated on June 15, 2017.
Now, the real story begins, to educate the public about our precious
resources and keeping our rivers clean. Clark summed it up nicely,
“My overall thought of the fish sculpture is very positive. While
fabricating the sculpture, I took part in researching the negative
effects of dumping trash into the rivers, and the positive effects
OARS makes every time they clean a river.” Hopefully, all will learn
            this valuable lesson.
