Hobart Institute of Welding Technology Holds Open House
HIWT was proud to host an Open House Ceremony on May 18th to
celebrate the new Welcome Center and renovated Student Resource
Center. This renovation encompasses approximately 9600 square feet of
space. The ceremony was held in the parking area outside the entrance.
Upon conclusion of the ceremony, attendees were welcomed into the new
space.
The Institute's main entrance is now located at 400 Trade Square East.
Once through the doors, attendees were greeted with backlit "Your
Welding Career Starts Here" and two large acrylic panels showcasing
facts about the Institute's Program and Corporate Services offerings.
The space also highlights College Life in Troy, Ohio, and a brief history
of the school. Two informational videos stream for attendees and future
visitors to watch while waiting to be escorted into the campus buildings.
Upon entering the doors into the Student Resource Center and John
H. Blankenbuehler Library, visitors can see the 12 computer pods for
students to build their resumes and search for jobs, and multiple seating
areas for reading and socializing. The John H. Blankenbuehler Library
is the largest private welding library in the country and has thousands
of books for students to read or check out. New to the library is an
