            CAPERTON REED



            Caperton “Cape” Reed recently joined Hobart Institute of Welding Technology as a
            skill instructor.  Cape had previously completed the &RPELQDWLRQ 6WUXFWXUDO DQG 3LSH
            Welding Program at HIWT.  He then worked for companies fabricating petroleum
            tanks, pressure vessels and piping.   Cape also did some structural welding.  His
            experience included a combination of welding processes such as shielded metal arc
            ZHOGLQJ  ÀX[ FRUHG DUF ZHOGLQJ  DQG JDV PHWDO DUF ZHOGLQJ

            new work environment,” says Cape, who is enjoying working with the students and
            passing along his talents.

            “HIWT  has  recently  been  faced  with  a  few  retirements  of  instructors  who  had
            much longevity with the Institute,” commented Ron Scott, Vice President / General

            our students.”

            Cape grew up in Dresden, Ohio, worked in Wyoming for a few years, and is currently
