HoMeless, Jobless, and fearless
Giving up almost all of their worldly possessions for the
opportunity to learn how to weld, Doug and Catrina (Trina)
Davis left Texas and drove to Ohio to attend the Combination
Structural and Pipe Welding Program at Hobart Institute. But
they aren’t “kids” and their decision was not made on the spur-
of-the-moment. They are the parents of three grown children
(two in colleges), with prior education and careers.
Trina, the daughter of a retired Air Force Colonel, lived in
many locations throughout her life. When she was in 7 grade
