When American Welding Society (AWS) employees Efram
Abrams and Stephen Borrero pour over notes from their last
technical meeting, they now have a new appreciation for the
welding processes they are writing about.
In September, Abrams and Borrero attended the Welding for
the Non-Welder course that the Hobart Institute of Welding
offers. The class provided the two AWS standard program
managers with a hands-on understanding of the major welding
processes.
“We now have a visual knowledge of what’s in the documents
we’re producing,” said Borrero. “Putting on our safety gear, Efram Abrams and Stephen Borrero of the Technical Services

what welding entails and a greater appreciation of the skill that
welders must possess.”
