It Takes the Utmost Skill

For anyone that is not involved in Career Center Education,
trying to wrap your head around everything that happens at the
SkillsUSA National Competition is mind boggling. The SkillsUSA
Championships are career competition events showcasing the
best career and technical education students in the nation.
Contests begin locally and continue through the state and national
levels, with some events even competing on a world stage. There
are so many different competitions going on it is nearly impossible
       to see them all.
The 2022 event was held June 21st – 24th at the Georgia World
Congress Center in downtown Atlanta. A team from the Institute
attended the event where they manned a booth and discussed
careers in welding and the programs and curriculum offered at
the Institute. Students also had the opportunity to weld with two
different virtual welding machines competing for bragging rights.
It was extremely interesting when a student who was not in
welding found out how cool welding could be, and how good they
       did with virtual technology.

The Welding Competition consisted of three separate areas:
Welding Fabrication, Welding, and Welding Sculpture. The
level of skill and focus these competitors had was phenomenal.
Watching them in their element, doing what they love doing is a
testament to the education they receive at their respective career
centers and to the next generation of skilled tradespeople.
Hobart Institute congratulates all the competitors on a job well
       done.
