HIWT Attends Construction Career Day
The HIWT marketing team attended the Allied Construction Industries
Construction Career Day at the Butler County Fairgrounds in Hamilton, OH
on May 4th. This event is designed to expose high school students to the
many opportunities that are available in the various skilled trades that
feed the construction industry. This year’s event also provided a break-out
session that explored what a day in the life looks like in the construction
industry.
The team discussed the various construction areas that welding touches,
provided information about the programs offered at the Institute and
gave students the opportunity to do some virtual welding. Many of the
students the team spoke with had no exposure to welding before this
event and was not even sure what welding actually was. These events,
held throughout the US, are a great way to show students about the many
opportunities available in the construction field that some had never even
considered.
