Team Attends FFA Ohio State Convention

Each year, the team attends various events throughout the region to
discuss opportunities in the field of welding. On May 5th & 6th, team
members attended the FFA Ohio State Convention. The FFA is a national
organization dedicated to preparing members for leadership and careers
in the science, business, and technology of agriculture. Welding is one
area that many FFA members have an interest, as most of them learn
some welding while working on their farms and get the bug to maybe
make it a career. The two-day event allowed the FFA students to speak
with our staff about the programs offered at the Institute and gave them
the opportunity to try their hand at welding by utilizing a virtual welder.
Students like to compete for the best score bringing out their natural
competitive nature in a fun environment. While no one gets it perfect,
there were some great scores, and the students had a fun time.
