Before coming to HIWT, Janet worked at a factory that made frames for
                                                                Honda.  During that time, she completed an Associate Degree in Welding
                                                                Technology and Advance Manufacturing.  She has also taken almost
                                                                all of the courses that are included in the Institute’s Structural Welding
                                                                Program.
                                                                What Janet likes most about working in education is watching our
                                                                students grow in their careers and see how they have started families
                                                                of their own. “It is very rewarding for me to see them develop as young
                                                                men and women into successful leaders at their individual companies and
                                                                unions.  When you come to this school, you will find it is not just a school.
                                                                Our kids become part of our HIWT family forever.  I love the students that
                                                                keep in touch; they know they are welcome to call me anytime”.
                                                                In her specific job, Janet enjoys meeting potential students, specifically
                                                                on tours.  She says it’s always nice to see potential students get excited
                                                                about being here.  “For a true welding student, looking around this school
                                                                is better than going to Disneyland”.
