Welding is the latest in a new group of career-oriented merit badges offered by the
BSA. Scouts interested in learning more about the welding merit badge and those in
the welding industry who are interested in serving as merit badge counselors can learn

About Assabet Valley RTHS
Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School (AVRTHS), located in Marlborough, Massachusetts, is a four-year program that provides academic and
technical courses as well as an evening program. Neil Mansfield, AWS-CWI/CWE, is AVRTHS Metal Fabrication instructor, metal artist, a graduate of Hobart
Institute of Welding Technology, a retired US Navy Chief, a New York City third-generation Ironworker, and was a welder at General Dynamics Electric Boat.
