Opportunities Aplenty

Hobart Institute held the final job fair of the 2022 on
September 20 with 48 employers on campus. The new
th
Career Development Center was able to be utilized even
though the team had not officially moved into the space.
As the need for skilled welders continues to increase, the
need for space to hold job fairs increases as well. “We
had 50 employers registered but two had to cancel at
the last minute” stated Melinda Gladish, Marketing &
Career Development Manager. “Our employers embrace
these events. It gives them the opportunity to speak with
students who are getting ready to graduate as well as plant
seeds of employment opportunities for those graduating in
the near future”.
All students, regardless of where they are in their schooling
are invited to the fair. Exposure to employers to see what
positions are available assists students in selecting their
Pathway for the final 16 weeks of their education.
The Institute maintains a job board for employers to post
current openings. Employers can post at any time by
visiting the website at www.welding.org and selecting the
Job Posting link at the top right-hand corner of the page.
